Feed error
Item disapprovedMismatched domains
A "Mismatched domains" error means the product's link uses a different domain from the website registered in Merchant Center, so the item is disapproved. On Shopify it usually means the feed builds links on the myshopify.com address or an old domain while the account is registered to the store's custom domain.

Why it happens on Shopify
Links use the myshopify.com address
Every Shopify store keeps its original myshopify.com address alongside its custom domain. A feed built from that base URL produces links that do not match a Merchant Center account registered to the custom domain.
The primary domain changed
Switching the store's primary domain, for example after a rebrand, leaves the feed or the Merchant Center registration on the old one until both are updated.
No website is verified and claimed yet
Google reports this error when no website is registered in the account at all. Every link mismatches until the store's domain is verified and claimed.
Market domains differ from the registered one
Stores that sell internationally on separate country domains can end up submitting links on a domain the Merchant Center account does not hold.
How to fix it
-
Check which domain the account holds
Look up the website registered under business information in Merchant Center, and confirm it is verified and claimed.
-
Compare it with the links in the feed
Download the affected products and check the domain in their link values. The pattern usually shows a single wrong base URL rather than scattered mistakes.
-
Build links on the store's primary domain
Use the primary domain set under Domains in Shopify settings as the base for every link. That is the domain customers land on and the one the account should hold.
-
Register the right domain if the account is wrong
If the feed is correct and the account holds an old domain, verify and claim the current one instead of rewriting links to an address that only redirects.
-
Allow time for the update
Google says corrections can take 24 to 72 hours to be reflected on the Needs attention page.
How feedlab handles this
feedlab builds link from each product's handle on the store's domain, and a transformation rule can set the base domain explicitly where it must match a different registration. The rule preview shows the resolved link for real products, so a myshopify.com address is caught before the feed is published.
Frequently asked questions
Do image links have to use my domain too?
No. Google allows images to be hosted elsewhere when submitted through image_link, so images on the Shopify CDN are fine. The domain rule applies to the product landing page link.
Can I keep the myshopify.com address in my feed?
Only if that is the website registered in Merchant Center, which is rarely what you want. Use the custom primary domain customers see, and register that domain in the account.
I changed my domain. What needs updating?
Both sides: verify and claim the new domain in Merchant Center, and regenerate the feed so every link uses it. Fixing only one leaves the two out of step.
Related errors
- Landing page not working An unavailable landing page error means Google could not load the page at the product's link when it crawled it, so the item is disapproved. On Shopify it usually means the product was unpublished, archived or renamed after the feed was built, or the storefront was password protected or briefly down.
- Page not crawlable due to robots.txt A "page not crawlable due to robots.txt" error means the store's robots.txt blocks Googlebot or Googlebot-Image from the product page or image, so Google cannot check it and disapproves the item. On Shopify it usually traces back to a customised robots.txt.liquid template or an app that added blocking rules.
- Misrepresentation A Misrepresentation suspension means Google judged that your store could mislead shoppers about who you are, what you sell or what a purchase costs. On Shopify it usually traces to thin trust signals: missing contact details or return policy, an unclear business identity, costs revealed late or overstated claims.
